About this service

Te Oranga Tonutanga - Towards Wellbeing is a national service that supports Oranga Tamariki Social Workers to recognise the signs of suicide risk and respond in a timely, compassionate, and effective way.

We provide consultation and oranga-focused guidance that helps kaimahi build their confidence, sharpen their practice, and respond with clarity and manaaki when working with tamariki (children) & rangatahi (young people) who might be at risk of suicide.

Towards Wellbeing equips Social Workers to act early, competently, and safely, while placing the wellbeing and future of tamariki and rangatahi at the centre of every response.
