I believe connection, kindness, and humour are important parts of wellbeing
Kia ora, my name is Aimee Russell, and I am a Clinical Advisor for Te Oranga Tonutanga – Towards Wellbeing.

I am a Registered Nurse and mental health clinician with over 15 years of experience supporting children, young people, adults, and whānau across a range of mental health and wellbeing services. My background includes child and adolescent mental health, crisis intervention, community mental health, and leadership roles within both mainstream and kaupapa Māori services.

I have extensive experience in risk assessment, crisis management, trauma-informed care, and supporting young people and families experiencing complex challenges. My approach is grounded in compassion, cultural safety, and building trusted relationships that empower people to navigate their wellbeing journey with confidence and hope.

Outside of work, I am a proud mum to two daughters and grandmother to one. I enjoy travelling, cooking for family and friends, and sharing a good laugh. I believe connection, kindness, and humour are important parts of wellbeing and bring these values into both my personal and professional life.
