Nō Ingarangi, nō Hāmene ōku tūpuna. Ko Ngāti Pākehā te iwi. I tipu ake au ki Te Whanganui-a-Tara, ā, kei konei tonu au e noho ana. Ko Belinda Buxton tōku ingoa.
I’m a clinical psychologist with a background in mental health work alongside adults, rangatahi, and their whānau across community, health, and corrections settings. I work as a Clinical Advisor with the Te Aho whānau. It’s a privilege to contribute to a kaupapa focused on suicide prevention and supporting rangatahi to be well, connected, and confident in their identity.
I believe in the value of every rangatahi, and in the power of working together to nurture thriving communities. I bring a warm, real, mana-enhancing approach to my mahi. I value curiosity, collaboration, and learning from all forms of knowing. Suicide prevention work is both tough and full of hope. It takes aroha, persistence, and a shared commitment to manaaki one another.
Outside of mahi, you’ll usually find me outdoors with my partner and our two tamariki exploring hills, coastlines, and wild places. I enjoy dabbling in the garden, connecting with loved ones over kai, and adventuring through time, place, and consciousness via reading and travel.
