"I believe in the importance of collective care. When we support each other as professionals, we create better outcomes for whānau and communities"
Ko Jane Haste tōku ingoa. I live in the Manawatū, where you’ll often find me spending time with my whānau and sharing kai together.
I’m a social worker and have been working in the mental health field for over twenty years. Since 2010, I’ve been part of the CASA team as a Clinical Advisor and a member of Ngā Pou Ārahi. I’ve spent much of my career focused on the wellbeing of our rangatahi within their whanau, and I’m especially passionate about strengthening and supporting the social work profession.
This mahi matters deeply to me. I believe in the importance of collective care. When we support each other as professionals, we create better outcomes for whānau and communities and in meeting my obligations as Pākeha to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
My approach is strengths-based, relational and values-led. I bring a mix of clinical experience, lived experience, and ongoing learning into my work, and I aim to walk alongside others in a way that’s mana-enhancing and inclusive.
