Kia ora, Mālō e lelei, and hello. Ko Saylene Welton tōku ingoa. Ko Tāmaki Makaurau me Tonga ōku iwi.
I’m a Registered Social Worker and Family Therapist based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland), currently working as a Clinical Advisor for TWB.

I’ve been in the social work field for over 20 years, with experience both here in Aotearoa and in England. My background spans Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and Care and Protection, where I’ve supported tamariki, rangatahi, and their whānau through some of life’s most challenging moments.

I take a collaborative approach to my work, walking alongside people, valuing their lived experiences, and working together to find solutions that are meaningful and sustainable. I’m especially passionate about supporting Māori and Pacific families, and I bring a culturally grounded, respectful lens to every part of my practice. I believe deeply in the strength of whanaungatanga and the importance of holding space for identity, connection, and healing.

Outside of mahi, I’m happiest spending time with my whānau—my husband, our two kids, and our wider aiga and community. When I can carve out a little spare time, I love getting outdoors and enjoying the natural beauty of Aotearoa, whether that’s going for a walk, hitting the beach, or just being active in the fresh air.
